Welcome to the ESPs 4S Stories! Here we highlight Sustainability Entrepreneurs, Innovators and Changemakers (SEICs) from the Salish Sea Bioregion in the Northwest Corner of the United States.
Terry Phair, a father, husband, member of the Lummi Nation, fisherman, and, above all else, a hard worker. As a vender at the Lummi Seafood Market, Terry is creating a community food system within the Lummi Nation.
Mo Hohmann is a basket maker and interdisciplinary artist who is working to create healing and collaborative pathways for death through basketry woven with willow locally grown, tended, and harvested by hand. Her business, Woven Thresholds, is based in Port Townsend, which is on S’Klallam land.
Emily Mallos started at Kulshan the first week of the Covid 19 lock downs. Her first few months were spent delivering beer to people’s doorsteps and running Kulshan’s social media but her role eventually evolved to general manager.
Alyssa White, Megan Ellis, and Alyssa Tsukada are the humans behind the Sustainable Lab Certification available on WWU’s campus since 2024.
